I went here because I got a usual pizza advertisement in my horde of junk mail overflowing my mailbox. I got their lunch special for $5.99. They have several different lunch special items (10am-3pm) for the same price (pizza, subs, calzones, wings, salad), and I got the pizza, which also comes with one can of pop. For the small pizza, I was surprised to get the option of deep dish, two toppings, and flavored crust. So, a small deep dish with chicken, ham, and garlic flavored crust was a pretty good deal. I tried their wings lunch special (6 wings, two breadsticks, and pop) on two other occasions as a compliment to the pizza with my wife, but their wings aren't that great. They're like crunchy little balls with only BBQ or this nasty chili buffalo sauce. And, the bread is rather bland. Despite this place being rather unknown compared to the dozens of chain pizzerias nearby, I highly recommend their pizza. There is no lobby to eat in. My only issue, however, is the walk-in service is somewhat annoying, and it seems they are filled with 16-17 year olds. So, if you're going to order, make sure you know exactly what you want, or you're going to confuse them with the slightest questions. One time, I asked the girl for the pizza mentioned above, and I had to repeat myself probably five times; she (and the other guy helping her) didn't seem to know the menu or their lunch special. I had to show it to them on their own menu. The pizza came out correct and delicious though.

Great pizza and cheese bread -- the two things I've tried so far. Extra points for using real mushrooms, unlike Jets and some other chain Detroit pizzerias. While I've only had their pizza once, it was as good as most orders of Jets pizza I've had (who I'm usually a big fan of). Overall, I'm a fan of Sammy's and will be back.

Had a major problem with one of the employees. The owner promptly and respectfully responded to my problem and even gave a full credit for my order even though i wasn't worried about it, and I want to thank him for that. While it does not completely make up for the incident, it goes a long way towards making me believe that people really care and i am more than just an order number. The food has always tasted great from here when its done right and it became and will continue to be a weekly dinner option for my home as i will be giving them more chances to earn back my trust and respect as a consumer.

The pizza and the bread standout from other places.. The deep dish pizza is cooked right!! And the cheese bread was phenomenal. Would recommend if you are hungry and want the best bang for your buck!

Ordered 2 deep dish pizzas (one double pepperoni and one BBQ chicken) both were delicious. I also got cheese and bacon bread, which is my favorite and I loved it. Greek Salad was good, lots of toppings. We were given a half hour delivery time and the young lady made it with time to spare. We'll definitely be ordering again.

Their square pizzas are the best! The crust is so buttery and crispy and they do not skimp on toppings. My parents came to visit from across the country and we got a pizza from Sammy's one night. Needless to say, during the 4 days they were here, they requested another night of Sammy's instead of going out to a nice sitdown place lol.
